Trusting Your Unique Magic
February 2025 Edition
Recently, I woke up eager to read one of my favorite weekly emails—The Isolation Journals by Suleika Jaouad. Every Sunday morning, my heart searches my inbox for her name, drawn to her words and the energy behind them. But on this particular Sunday, just days before my own newsletter’s release, I opened hers and saw the theme she was exploring: Magic.
My heart sank. My ego whispered, “See? You waited too long.” Then another voice surfaced—an echo of a famous writer’s words about inspiration, something to the effect of: Inspiration will come to you, but if left unused, it will move on to someone else. I had always feared this—that I would let my inspiration slip away, only to regret it later.
A client recently brought up this same idea during an intuitive reading. But in the sacred space of that session, I heard a different perspective—one that reframed this belief. Themes and ideas don’t belong to any one person; they weave themselves into the collective, waiting to be expressed, integrated, and made manifest. The more voices we have working with them—voices aligned with love and our highest good—the more the collective is uplifted and supported. This message allowed me to exhale.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want fear to have any place in my creativity or my motivation to create. I don’t want to feel pressured or rushed, because that only shuts down my channel to inspiration.
So what do you do if you’ve been sitting on an idea, gathering the courage to share it, only to see that someone else has already put something similar out into the world? Do it anyway. Your version will not be like theirs, because there is no one like you. The world needs to hear, see, and experience it in many ways. How many times have you heard the same concept, but when a particular person says it just a bit differently—with their energy, words, or unique expression—it finally lands? For whatever reason, at that moment, you’re able to receive it fully.
That Sunday morning, after I waded through my ego’s fears, I felt this truth so deeply in my body and reminded myself: The theme of magic is not just for Suleika to share—it is for all of us to share. My intention is to help as many people as possible remember their magic, and I can’t do that alone. So thank you, Suleika, for being an incredible expression of magic.
As you can see with this second edition of Soul Musings. I’m choosing to execute rather than let this idea wither before it has a chance to land. How selfish it would be not to share it with you. If one of you feels lit up or encouraged to share your idea—even if someone else has done something similar—then I have done my job. This is not the time to keep your creativity to yourself. Now more than ever, we need the artists (you are one whether you know it or not) and the dreamers. We need your unique perspective and your soulful expression more than ever. We need your magic.
